Inventory Lead
Take ownership of inventory that keeps our operations moving.
At T&G Global, we're passionate about growing healthier futures. Every day, our people help deliver fresh produce to customers across New Zealand and around the world.
We're looking for an Inventory Lead to join our Whakatu Post Harvest team in Hastings. This is a newly created role that will play a critical part in ensuring our packaging, consumables and inventory are available exactly when they're needed, helping keep our packing operations running efficiently throughout the season.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining operational planning, supplier relationships and inventory management with continuous improvement.
About the role
As the Inventory Lead, you'll be responsible for managing all non-produce inventory across our Whakatu Post Harvest operations. From forecasting packaging requirements and maintaining inventory accuracy through to supplier coordination and purchasing consumables, you'll ensure the right materials are in the right place at the right time.
You'll work closely with Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain and S&OP teams, becoming a trusted partner across the business while identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and inventory performance.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted production
Leading inventory reporting, stock reconciliations and cycle counting
Purchasing packaging and operational consumables
Building strong relationships with suppliers and monitoring delivery performance
Supporting seasonal planning and material forecasting
Investigating inventory discrepancies and implementing process improvements
Maintaining accurate inventory data and reporting to support operational decisions
Championing safe work practices and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the site
About you
We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive and enjoys solving problems before they become issues.
You'll bring:
Experience in inventory, stores, warehouse, purchasing or supply chain coordination
Strong attention to detail and a passion for maintaining accurate inventory records
Confidence working with ERP or inventory management systems
Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate and resolve stock discrepancies
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across operations, suppliers and support functions
A continuous improvement mindset and the confidence to challenge existing processes
Good planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced operational environment
Experience within manufacturing, food production, horticulture or FMCG environments would be highly regarded but isn't essential.
Why join T&G?
This is a genuine opportunity to make your mark in a newly established position where you'll have the autonomy to improve processes and influence how inventory is managed across our Whakatu operation.
In return, you'll join a collaborative team, work closely with experienced operational leaders and play a key role in supporting one of New Zealand's leading fresh produce businesses.
If you're someone who enjoys creating order, improving systems and ensuring operations have what they need to succeed, we'd love to hear from you.
