At T&G, our success starts with our people. We're looking for an inspiring Orchard Sector Manager who can bring out the best in others while leading one of our orchard sectors to deliver outstanding results.

About the Role

As Orchard Sector Manager, you'll lead a dedicated team responsible for producing premium-quality apples while fostering a culture built on collaboration, safety, continuous improvement, and personal growth.

You'll work closely with operational teams, seasonal workers, contractors, and support functions to ensure people have the tools, training, and leadership they need to thrive.

What You'll Be Doing

Lead and Develop People

• Inspire, coach, and mentor orchard teams to achieve their full potential.

• Build a culture of trust, accountability, and teamwork.

• Set clear expectations and provide regular feedback and development opportunities.

• Support career progression and succession planning across the sector.

• Foster an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and respected.

Create a High-Performing Team Environment

• Champion T&G's Mindsets, Be Bold, Do the Mahi, One Team and Take Good Care

• Communicate openly and effectively across teams and stakeholders.

• Proactively identify workforce needs and support seasonal labour planning.

• Address challenges constructively and celebrate team successes.

Drive Operational Excellence

• Lead daily orchard operations, ensuring quality, productivity, and sustainability goals are achieved.

• Work with your team to optimise crop performance through effective orchard management practices.

• Embrace innovation and continuous improvement to enhance outcomes for both people and orchards.

• Lead by example in creating a safe and healthy workplace.

• Ensure every team member returns home safely each day.

• Promote a proactive safety culture focused on learning and continuous improvement.

About You

You're a people-first leader who enjoys developing others and building strong relationships. You combine practical horticultural expertise with the ability to motivate and engage teams.

You'll bring:

• Proven leadership experience in horticulture, agriculture, or a similar operational environment.

• A passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing people.

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

• The ability to lead through change and inspire high performance.

• Sound commercial and operational judgement.

• A Diploma in Horticulture (or equivalent experience).
