For over 125 years, T&G Fresh has nourished generations of Kiwis with fresh fruit and vegetables. We grow, pack, market, sell, distribute, import and export fresh produce from our own orchards and farms, as well as from over 700 Kiwi growers.
We are New Zealand's largest producer and packer of hothouse tomatoes. These crops are grown in state-of-the-art, environmentally controlled glasshouses, across our four North Island sites, and are packaged for both local and export markets all-year round.

About the opportunity
We are looking for a Glasshouse 2IC to join our team based in Tuakau. This full time position is working Monday to Friday 7.00am to 5.00pm, with flexibility to work extra hours and Saturdays when required🍅
In this role you will assist and support the Production Manager with day-to-day duties, ensuring a high quality of work is maintained and work is carried out safely
Key responsibilities include;
🍅 General coordinating of the team - provide the team with the necessary tools and equipment for execution of crop tasks
🍅 Various dispatching duties, answering calls, managing inwards/outwards goods
🍅 Mentor glasshouse workers to ensure compliance with best practice, continual skill development of the team members
🍅 Ensuring tasks are completed as per the production plan
🍅 Regular inventory stock takes
🍅 Communication of the labour plan and crop tasks
🍅 General upkeep and ensuring the glasshouses are always tidy
🍅 Maintain records and upkeep of all PPE, tools and equipment
🍅 Promoting a positive health and safety environment within the team
About you
Alongside have a passion on all things horticulture, we are also looking for the following skills and attributes:
🍅 Previous glasshouse experience with tomatoes or similar desirable
🍅 Intermediate level of computer skills, ideally with SAP experience
🍅 Experience dispatching and receiving goods
🍅 Excellent communication skills both oral and written, with ability to effectively provide instructions to others in the team to continue to develop their skills
🍅 The ability to problem solve and find solutions
🍅 A relevant tertiary level horticultural qualification would be desirable
🍅 A good level of numeracy and literacy skills
