We are looking for a Customer Services Team Leader to lead our national transport customer service and administration team, ensuring our customers receive a seamless, responsive and high-quality service experience.

About the Role
Reporting to the National Transport Sales Manager, you will lead a team of six Customer Service Representatives supporting our 24/7 national transport operation.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring customer orders, queries and documentation are managed accurately and efficiently while working closely with operational transport teams to resolve issues and keep freight moving.
This is a hands-on leadership role, combining people leadership, customer relationship management, operational coordination and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service Leadership
Lead and support the Customer Service team to deliver exceptional service to transport customers across New Zealand
Ensure customer enquiries, issues and requests are resolved quickly and professionally
Build strong relationships with customers and internal operational teams
Manage credits, claims and proof-of-delivery requests
Operational Administration
Oversee accurate order entry and transport documentation processes
Ensure freight movements are captured and reconciled correctly within internal systems
Maintain customer rates and records in transport systems
Monitor and address data entry backlogs and maintain high accuracy standards
People Leadership
Lead, coach and develop a team of Customer Service Representatives
Manage team rosters to ensure appropriate coverage for the operation
Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular one-on-one conversations
Foster a collaborative, supportive and high-performing team culture
Continuous Improvement
Identify process improvements across customer service and administration workflows
Develop and implement SOPs and best practices
Analyse trends in claims, credits and operational issues to improve performance
About You
You’re a proactive and organised leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys solving problems and supporting your team to succeed.
You will ideally bring:
Experience leading a customer service or administration team
Background in logistics, transport, FMCG or another fast-paced operational environment
Strong communication and relationship management skills
Excellent attention to detail and administrative accuracy
Confidence working with operational systems and data
A proactive approach to improving processes and solving problems
Experience with transport management systems, SAP or logistics platforms would be beneficial but is not essential.
