T&G Fresh is a global leader in fresh produce, connecting growers and customers to deliver quality fruit and vegetables every day. Our Tauranga Market is a fast-paced produce hub where fresh product moves quickly from growers to customers across the Bay of Plenty.

We’re looking for a hands-on Operations Supervisor to help lead our market floor operations and ensure produce flows efficiently from receipting through to customer dispatch.

About the role

Reporting to the Market Manager, the Operations Supervisor plays a key leadership role across the Tauranga Market floor.

This role works across the critical early morning trading period, starting at 4:00am, and helps ensure a smooth transition between the night shift operations and the daytime team. You’ll work closely with the Night Shift and day staff to maintain continuity across the operation and keep the market running smoothly during its busiest hours.

You’ll be responsible for overseeing the movement of stock through the site, from receipting and chiller organisation through to picking, packing, and dispatch, while supporting the team on the floor and maintaining high operational standards.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll spend most of your time on the market floor coordinating activity, supporting the team, and ensuring orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strong on-floor leadership across early morning and day shift operations

• Work closely with the Night Shift to ensure smooth shift handovers

• Oversee receipting, unloading, stock movement, chiller management, picking, packing, and dispatch

• Ensure customer orders are assembled accurately and delivered on time

• Coordinate truck movements and site activity across the market

• Maintain strong inventory accuracy and stock rotation practices

• Support and lead operational teams across the market floor

• Partner with Sales to ensure stock availability and customer requirements are met

• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, food safety, and site presentation

• Champion health & safety and safe work practices across the site

About you

You’re a practical and people-focused operations leader who enjoys being on the floor and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

You’re comfortable with early morning starts and confident coordinating activity across teams to ensure operations run smoothly during the busiest time of the day.

Ideally you will bring:

• Experience supervising teams in warehousing, logistics, FMCG, produce, or supply chain operations

• Strong understanding of inventory control and warehouse flow

• Experience working in multi-shift operational environments

• Strong communication and team leadership skills

• Confidence using ERP systems and operational software

• A strong focus on health & safety and operational standards

• A forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
