Post-Harvest Quality Lead
About us
Here at T&G Global we're passionate about growing healthier futures. Our story began 125 years ago and today our 2,000 people are located in 13 countries, where we grow, market, sell and distribute high-quality fresh produce to customers in more than 60 countries.
At T&G Global, quality isn’t something we inspect at the end; it’s something we build in, every day. We’re looking for a Post-Harvest Quality Lead who brings the right attitude, strong people skills, and a hands-on approach to quality leadership at our Whakatu site.
Reporting to the Regional Quality Manager, this role leads post-harvest quality assurance and phyto activities from bin receipt through to packed product entering pallet stores. You’ll be a visible presence on the packhouse floor, working shoulder-to-shoulder with production and post-harvest teams to influence behaviours, lift capability, and embed a strong quality culture.
This is not a desk-based quality role. It’s about being out there, asking the right questions, coaching in the moment, and helping teams understand the why behind quality and compliance.
What you’ll be doing
Leading post-harvest quality and phyto activities at the Whakatu site, from intake through to finished packed product
Being a trusted quality partner on the floor; influencing, coaching and supporting teams to achieve “right first time” outcomes
Promoting quality and market access awareness through clear communication and practical guidance
Monitoring product performance and responding quickly to quality or compliance risks
Supporting market access requirements and ensuring regulatory and customer standards are consistently met
Playing a key role in internal and external audits, corrective actions and system improvements
Working closely with production, packhouse and regional quality teams to drive continuous improvement
Leading by example in food safety, health & safety and quality behaviours
What we’re really looking for
The right mindset: practical, solutions-focused, and confident working in a fast-paced operational environment
Someone who can influence without authority, build credibility quickly, and have constructive quality conversations on the floor
Experience in post-harvest quality, compliance, or technical roles within horticulture, food production or FMCG
A strong understanding of quality systems, regulatory requirements and market access expectations
Clear communication skills and the ability to adapt your approach to different audiences
A genuine passion for fruit quality and continuous improvement
Why join T&G?
You’ll step into a role where your presence and influence genuinely matter. You’ll be trusted to shape how quality shows up day-to-day, supported by an experienced regional team, and given the opportunity to grow your impact across the wider North Island post-harvest network.
If you’re someone who believes quality works best when it’s seen, understood and lived on the floor, we’d love to hear from you.
Apply now and help drive post-harvest quality at T&G Whakatu.
Proof of eligibility to work in New Zealand is required for all applicants and any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory drug test, credit check, driver licence check, and security check.
