Orchard Mechanic
We're looking for a Orchard Mechanic to join the team at Hinton's Orchard in Alexandra. This is a full-time, permanent position.
About us
For over 125 years, T&G Fresh has nourished generations of Kiwis with fresh fruit and vegetables. We grow, pack, market, sell, distribute, import and export fresh produce from our own orchards and farms, as well as from over 700 Kiwi growers.
Hinton’s Orchard is a fifth-generation family business and one of New Zealand’s largest stonefruit orchards. Located in Alexandra and spanning 159 hectares, Hinton’s is renowned for producing premium cherries, apricots, nectarines, peaches, plums, and peacharines for consumers at home and across Asia.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a skilled Orchard Mechanic to join our team at Hinton’s Orchard. This is a full-time, permanent role reporting to the Orchard Manager.
You'll take the lead in maintaining and repairing a range of orchard and packhouse equipment, from tractors and forklifts to hydraladas, ensuring everything runs smoothly and safely. You'll also keep accurate maintenance records and uphold strong Health & Safety standards on site.
This role is available for an immediate start, with a competitive hourly rate and a company ute provided.
What you’ll bring
- Proven experience in machinery repairs and maintenance
- Practical, hands-on approach with great attention to detail
- Positive team player with a strong work ethic
- Solid understanding of Health & Safety practices
- Full, clean NZ driver’s licence
- A Class 5 truck licence is a bonus - but not essential
