S&OP Supply Planning Lead
Turn complexity into a plan that works.
What happens when crop forecasts change, packout moves, inventory builds, capacity tightens and customer demand shifts?
Someone needs to see the whole picture, work out what it means, and turn it into a plan people can act on.
That’s where you come in.
We’re looking for an S&OP Supply Planning Lead to take ownership of our end-to-end supply planning capability across T&G’s fresh produce network.
This isn’t a role where you inherit a perfectly polished planning process and keep it ticking over.
You’ll help build it.
What you’ll own
You’ll bring together the moving parts of our supply chain to create a clear, realistic forward supply plan.
That means connecting:
Crop outlook and production expectations
Packout, product availability and quality
Inventory, storage and ageing profiles
Packhouse and coolstore capacity
Logistics and supply constraints
Demand and market priorities
You’ll look beyond the numbers to answer the questions that matter:
What will we have? When will we have it? Where are the risks? What are our options? And what do we need to do about them?
You’ll own the Supply Review within our S&OP cycle, bringing risks, opportunities, assumptions and trade-offs to the table early, supported by scenarios and clear recommendations.
You’ll also work across the business to improve how we plan, make decisions and respond when the plan changes.
This is a build role
Our supply planning capability is still developing.
That’s deliberate.
We want someone who can bring strong planning expertise, challenge the way things are done and establish better ways of working.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
Shape and embed the supply planning process
Establish planning standards, measures and governance
Build stronger links between S&OP and operational execution
Develop scenario and constraint planning
Improve planning visibility and data quality
Make better use of SAP IBP, Power BI and other planning tools
Introduce best practice and continuous improvement
Build capability within the planning team
The planning horizon is predominantly long-term, generally beyond 12 weeks, giving you the space to identify issues before they become operational problems.
Who are we looking for?
You’re a supply planning professional who enjoys complexity and knows how to turn competing inputs into a plan.
You might currently be a:
Supply Planning Lead | Supply Chain Planner | Production Planner | Resource Planner | Inventory Planner | Logistics Planner | S&OP / IBP Specialist | Planning Analyst ready to step up
Your current job title matters less than the depth of your planning experience.
We’re looking for someone with:
Strong experience across supply, production, inventory or integrated planning
Ideally 5+ years’ experience, although we’ll consider strong candidates with 3+ years
Experience working across complex, seasonal or changing supply environments
Strong analytical and numerical capability
Experience with advanced planning systems such as SAP IBP
Advanced Excel and ideally Power BI capability
The ability to translate complex data into practical recommendations
Strong commercial thinking around inventory, service, cost and value
The confidence to influence stakeholders and challenge constructively
A genuine interest in process improvement and building better ways of working
Experience in horticulture, fresh produce or primary industries would be useful, but it’s not essential.
What matters most is that you understand supply planning and know how to make it work.
Why this role?
Because you won’t just be managing a plan. You’ll shape how T&G plans supply.
You’ll have visibility across a complex, seasonal supply chain and work with teams spanning growing, postharvest, production, demand planning, logistics, sales, finance and our external supply partners.
You’ll also lead one Supply Planner, giving you the opportunity to develop capability while building something bigger than the role itself.
If you’re at your best when there’s complexity to solve, processes to improve and an opportunity to leave things better than you found them, this could be a very good fit.
Ready to build something that matters?
If you’re a strong supply planner looking for a role where your expertise can genuinely shape the future of planning, we’d like to hear from you.
