Communications Specialist
Some communications roles are about keeping channels updated.
This isn't one of them.
At T&G, you'll help strengthen the reputation and culture of one of New Zealand's most iconic food businesses.
We're looking for a Communications Specialist with a natural curiosity, a nose for a good story, and the ability to build trusted relationships across a complex and fascinating growth business.
This is an opportunity to work alongside senior leaders, influence how we communicate and engage with our people, growers, media and stakeholders, and help protect and enhance the reputation of a business that reaches markets around the world.
If you're energised by finding the story behind the story, turning complexity into clarity, producing innovative and engaging content, and building relationships that help you uncover insights others miss, we'd love to hear from you.
Why this role?
You'll join a high-performing Corporate Affairs team with exposure to everything from media relations and grower communications through to investor reporting, stakeholder engagement and issues management.
You'll work with people at every level of the organisation — from our orchard and packhouse teams through to executive leaders — helping them communicate what matters most.
It's a role for someone who enjoys variety, thrives on building connections, and wants to develop into a well-rounded communications professional.
No two days are the same.
One day you could be working with journalists on a media opportunity. The next, helping prepare communications for senior leaders, managing the production of the Annual Report, developing digital content, or helping tell the growth story of how T&G is delivering on its purpose of Growing Healthier Futures.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who:
Has experience in communications, public affairs, journalism or a related field.
Knows how to identify, shape and tell compelling stories.
Is comfortable engaging with media and developing messaging and material.
Builds credibility and trusted relationships quickly.
Can take complex information and turn it into clear, engaging content.
Brings energy, initiative and a genuine desire to learn.
Is collaborative, pragmatic and enjoys working across all levels of an organisation.
Most importantly, we're looking for a great teammate — someone who is curious, adaptable, commercially aware and excited by the opportunity to contribute to a business with a meaningful purpose and an ambitious future.
