Head of Talent, Capability & Organisational Development
Auckland | Global Scope
Build the leadership, talent and organisational capability that will help shape the future of one of New Zealand's most successful global businesses.
At T&G, we've spent generations growing and marketing premium fresh produce enjoyed by consumers around the world. Our Apples business is a global operation, spanning breeding, growing, packing, marketing and sales across New Zealand, Australia, Asia, North America and Europe.
Over the past decade, we've built an enviable portfolio of premium apple brands and proven our strategy on the global stage. As we look to the future, our focus is shifting from proving the strategy to consistently executing it at an even higher level across every part of our business.
That's where this newly created role comes in.
We're looking for an experienced Organisational Development leader to help shape the next chapter of our growth journey by building the leadership, talent and organisational capability that will enable sustained high performance across our global business.
Why this role?
This is not a role focused on maintaining existing programmes or refining processes around the edges.
This is an opportunity to help define how a global business develops leaders, builds capability, identifies talent and creates the conditions for high performance.
You'll join at a time when there is genuine momentum and appetite for excellence. Across the business, leaders are energised by the opportunities ahead and recognise that future success will be driven not only by what we do, but how we do it.
You'll work alongside a leadership team that is engaged, commercially minded and committed to building a high-performing organisation capable of delivering ambitious growth plans.
While there are strong foundations already in place, including our High Performance Framework, there remains significant opportunity to shape and evolve how leadership, talent and capability are developed across the organisation.
This is a rare opportunity to influence the people agenda at scale while creating solutions that have a direct impact on business performance.
What you'll be responsible for
Reporting to the Director of People & Culture, you'll play a key role in shaping and delivering the organisational development strategy that supports our long-term business ambitions.
You'll lead initiatives across:
Leadership development and capability building
Talent management and succession planning
High-performance team effectiveness
Organisational effectiveness and culture
Inclusion and diversity
Career pathways and internal mobility
Change leadership and organisational readiness
You'll partner closely with leaders across multiple countries, helping them build the capability, structure and culture needed to achieve their goals.
A key part of the role will be translating strategy into practical, scalable solutions that create measurable outcomes for both our people and the business.
You'll also have the opportunity to help shape how future people technology investments, including a new HRIS platform, support capability, talent and organisational performance.
What success looks like
Success in this role won't be measured by the number of frameworks created or programmes launched.
Success will be reflected in stronger leaders, more effective teams, deeper talent pipelines, greater organisational capability and improved business outcomes.
We're looking for someone who can bring clarity to complexity, balance strategy with execution and deliver practical solutions that leaders genuinely embrace.
About you
You are a commercially minded organisational development leader who understands that people initiatives only create value when they drive meaningful business outcomes.
You'll likely bring experience leading organisation-wide initiatives across leadership, capability, talent and culture, along with the credibility to influence senior leaders and executives.
Most importantly, you'll be pragmatic in your approach. You'll know when to build sophisticated solutions and when simplicity creates greater impact.
You'll enjoy creating structure where there is ambiguity, bringing people on the journey and helping organisations successfully navigate change.
Why T&G?
This is an opportunity to join a business with a proud heritage, strong values and ambitious plans for the future.
You'll have the opportunity to:
Shape a newly created leadership role
Influence leaders across a global organisation
Build capability frameworks and talent approaches that leave a lasting legacy
Drive meaningful organisational change
Partner with leaders who are invested in building a high-performing culture
Contribute to the ongoing success of globally recognised premium brands
If you're looking for a role where you can combine strategic influence, practical delivery and meaningful impact, we'd love to hear from you.
