Sustainability Data Analyst
At T&G Global, our purpose is to grow healthier futures. Sustainability is at the heart of how we do this, captured through our value of Kaitiakitanga, caring for the land, people, and communities we serve.
We’re looking for a Sustainability Data Analyst to join our Global Hub in Ellerslie on a one year fixed-term contract. This is a hands on, data focused role supporting a critical period of sustainability reporting, including our first year of Scope 3 emissions reporting.
If you’re someone who thrives in complex datasets, enjoys working behind the scenes to ensure data is accurate and audit ready, and has a genuine interest in sustainability, this could be a great fit.
About the Role
Working closely with our Sustainability team, you’ll play a key role in collecting, validating, and reporting sustainability data across our global operations.
This role is less about storytelling and more about getting the data right, ensuring it is complete, accurate, and robust enough to stand up to external audit.
You’ll be supporting the team through a peak reporting period, picking up core data responsibilities while contributing to key deliverables for executive and external reporting.
What You’ll Be Doing
Collect and consolidate sustainability data from multiple global sources (including suppliers, invoices, and internal systems)
Cleanse, validate, and input data into sustainability platforms (BraveGen and BayWa/Cority systems)
Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and tracking tools (Excel-based and system-generated)
Analyse datasets to identify anomalies and ensure accuracy and completeness
Support audit processes by ensuring data is well documented and audit ready (external assurance)
Collaborate with stakeholders across New Zealand and international teams to gather required data
Produce regular reporting outputs (charts, graphs, pivot tables) to track progress against sustainability goals
What We’re Looking For
The “must-haves”:
Advanced Excel capability; you’re genuinely confident working across large, complex datasets (pivot tables, lookups, Power Query)
Strong attention to detail; you take pride in accuracy and data integrity
Experience working with data collection, cleansing, and reporting
Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple data streams, and meet deadlines
The “ideal”:
Experience in sustainability, climate data, or carbon accounting
Familiarity with GHG accounting principles and frameworks (e.g. GHG Protocol)
Understanding of how emissions data is captured, calculated, and reported (similar to financial accounting principles)
Experience working with audited datasets or regulated reporting environments
Equally valuable:
Candidates from a finance or analytical background with a strong interest in sustainability
Curious, inquisitive mindset; someone who will question data when something doesn’t look right
How You Work
Self-sufficient and proactive; you take ownership and go looking for answers
Comfortable working across global teams and building relationships
Clear communicator; able to follow up, clarify, and escalate early when needed
Structured and organised; able to manage multiple inputs and deadlines
Collaborative; happy to pitch in as part of a small, high-performing team
Why T&G?
Be part of a purpose led organisation in New Zealand’s primary sector
Contribute to meaningful sustainability outcomes in a global business
Join a small, supportive team where everyone rolls up their sleeves to deliver
Opportunity to make a real impact during a critical reporting period
If you’re someone who loves working with data and wants to contribute to sustainability in a practical, meaningful way, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now.
Proof of eligibility to work in New Zealand is required for all applicants and any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory drug test, credit check, driver licence check, and security check.
We want T&G to be a place where everyone is accepted, respected and celebrated for who they are – regardless of our similarities or differences. It’s essential that everyone can be themselves and thrive, and that together we create a diverse and vibrant workplace.
