About the opportunity
We’re looking for a commercially-minded, strategically-savvy Procurement Manager to join our newly created Enterprise Initiatives team. Based in Hawke’s Bay and reporting to the Head of Enterprise Initiatives this pivotal new team and combining both strategy and operational delivery, you will continue to drive the development and implementation of T&G Apples Procurement Strategy and achieve positive outcomes for T&G across high value contracts. Leading a small team, your functional expertise will help shape procurement excellence across the apples business, and your continuous improvement mindset will see you identify ways to maximise efficiencies across the supply chain.
Key responsibilities include:
Develop and successfully implement procurement strategy, and associated systems and processes, for T&G’s apples business.
Deliver enterprise value and ensure appropriate risk management with critical suppliers and contracts.
Engage broadly across the business to understand requirements and ensure delivery against agreed targets. Contribute to, and/or prepare Board papers as required.
Identify key contractual and operating opportunities for financial and non-financial procurement benefits.
Oversee other key components including lease, fleet and contract management and administration, and facilities and maintenance activities.
Develop and drive a culture of procurement excellence and continuous improvement that enables information-led decision making.
About you
With similar functional experience gained ideally within Fresh or FMCG, you have strong financial acumen and are genuinely commercially curious, always seeking new opportunities to create efficiencies, drive value, and maximise critical supplier relationships. A proven leader, you’re comfortable forming teams and possess the interpersonal ,relationship and change management skills to influence and drive organisational change. You will also have experience creating environments where others can grow, and build trusting partnerships internally and externally that ensure innovative, profitable and sustainable opportunities for the business are achieved.
