Quality Control Supervisor
At T&G Global, we’re passionate about growing healthier futures. As our Whakatu Packhouse continues to expand, we’re looking for a Quality Control Supervisor to join our team on night shift (3:00pm–12:00am).
This is a key leadership role responsible for maintaining the integrity and quality of our apples product as it moves through our state-of-the-art production facility.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Packhouse Production Manager, you’ll lead a team of Phytosanitary Inspectors in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You’ll ensure product meets all market, compliance and food safety standards, while fostering a positive, high-performing team culture.
You’ll work closely with Production, Compliance, Coolstore and Technical teams, ensuring quality remains at the forefront of every production conversation.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Leading and developing a team of Phytosanitary Inspectors
Ensuring all MPI/IVA/OAP requirements are met and documentation is accurate
Monitoring fruit quality trends and implementing corrective actions
Identifying and managing non-conforming product, segregation and rework processes
Ensuring compliance with BRC, HACCP and customer requirements
Completing pressure, BRIX, residue and other required testing
Supporting audits and liaising with auditors, management and growers
Driving food safety, health & safety, and continuous improvement initiatives
Promoting sustainability practices aligned to our Kaitiakitanga pillar
This is a hands-on supervisory role where attention to detail, confident decision-making and strong communication are essential.
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience in quality control within a production or packhouse environment (horticulture preferred)
Strong knowledge of food safety and compliance systems
Confident team leadership experience
High attention to detail and strong technical aptitude
Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments
Excellent computer skills and documentation accuracy
Exceptional reliability and time management
You’ll be proactive, solutions-focused, and comfortable taking ownership in a dynamic operational setting.
