Orchard Equipment Operator (Truck & Tractor Driver)
We are seeking a Seasonal Tractor and Truck Operator to support our orchard operations.

For over 125 years, T&G Fresh has nourished generations of Kiwis with fresh fruit and vegetables. We grow, pack, market, sell, distribute, import, and export fresh produce from our own orchards and farms, as well as from over 700 Kiwi growers.
Hinton’s Orchard is based in Alexandra and spans 159 hectares, one of New Zealand’s largest stonefruit orchards. Hinton's is a fifth-generation family business renowned for producing premium cherries, apricots, nectarines, peaches, plums, and peacharines for consumers in New Zealand and across Asia.
About the opportunity
We are seeking a Seasonal Tractor and Truck Operator to support our orchard operations. This hands-on role includes mowing, weed spraying, and fruit delivery to the packhouse during harvest.
The ideal candidate will hold a Class 5 licence (preferred) or Class 4 licence (required) and be available to work from mid-September through to at least April or May. Extra hours will be required during peak harvest times.
Key responsibilities include:
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely
- Adhere to all road laws, company driving standards, and logbook regulations
- Keep vehicles clean and tidy, especially inside the cab
- Operate orchard machinery and equipment (Mainly Tractors and a Class 5 truck)
- Carry out general orchard tasks as required
About you
- Experience operating tractors and trucks in an agricultural setting would be desirable
- A Class 5 truck licence is highly advantageous, or a minimum of Class 4 licence required
- Reliable and a good work ethic
- Ability to work independently and follow safety procedures
